[Review] IDS Skincare Intensive Moisturizer
IDS Skincare, 02 August 2022
This newly formulated IDS Skincare Intensive Moisturiser (IM) is so good it deserves a review post on its own. Just to share a little about my skin (in case you are new here), I have oily-combination skin so I've been using the Oil-free Moisturiser (OM) and Recovery Serum (RS). I've used the original version of IM before, but only when I travel to winter countries as it's rather creamy, works great for super dry conditions though.
In around March, due to stress, my skin was switching between oily combi and dry. That's when I was introduced this newly formulated IM. Some of you might know of IDS' highly raved Moisture Boost (MB). I think this newly formulated IM is even more awesome than MB. Now, here's why I love it so much!
1. Very effective for dry skin
IM has always been very effective for dry skin, that's why I use it on winter trips. It keeps the skin very hydrated and you can see the effects after one use. If you have a dry patch, just apply IM and it will be gone the next day - tested by my hubby and I on our winter trips.
2. Extremely light cream moisturiser
This newly formulated IM is sooooooo light compared to its predecessor and it is suitable for all skin types. My oily combination skin accepted it with no complaints, just be sure to only apply a thin layer. Not only is it light, it is absorbed by the skin very quickly and leaves the skin smooth to touch!
3. Smells like spa
It's a unique scent of IDS, called Plush, that's derived from natural ingredients, and it smells so good. It actually reminded me of the balinese spa kinda smell. For those who have trouble sleeping, this might help you sleep better too (I say one hehe). So one more reason to get the IM right? *winks*
4. Reduces appearance of fine lines
It's said that it contains Sodium Hyaluronate that holds moisture effectively to reduce the appearance of fine lines, create a healthier barrier and promote younger-looking skin. Not too sure about the fine lines but my skin does feel more supple after application and prevention is always better than cure.
5. Safe for mummies
If you are a mummy that is super worried about the long list of ingredients that you need to avoid, this is the perfect pregnancy-safe moisturiser for you. It's silicones-free and paraben-free and most importantly, it doesn't contain retinol A. Many shared that retinol A is the key ingredient to avoid, that said, my gynae said that anything topical and bought off the shelf is generally safe. When in doubt, just ask your gynae.
Here's the full ingredients list:
Water, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Stearic Acid, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Glycerides, Trehalose, Dimethyl Sulfone, Cetearyl Glucoside, Glyceryl Caprylate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Arginine, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate.
